Latest launch information:7th September 2021
Confused reports reached the UK Coastguard of overdue swimmers in Swanage Bay. One report suggested an 8-year-old was missing, another that a 38-year-old was overdue. Both lifeboats were launched to cover the worst-case scenario and Swanage lifeguards, along with coastguard volunteers, were tasked to establish an accurate situation.
Shortly after launching, the lifeguards were able to report that all persons reported overdue had now left the water and been accounted for. This allowed all the units to return to station, just 25 minutes after launching.
