26th October 2020Summary
Both Swanage lifeboats along with Poole lifeboat and the volunteers from Swanage Coastguard were tasked to Middle Beach, Studland this evening. A report had been recieved by the UK Coastguard that a person had been seen swimming out to sea and not returning. All units were tasked to search the area and report any findings. The conditions on scene were good for searching and using searchlights, illuminating flares and image intensifiers the area was carefully searched following the Coastguard’s plans. After two hours of searching nothing had been found. Dorset Police confirmed that they had no reports of anyone missing in the area so all units were released to return to their stations.
