Latest launch information:12th June 2020
Swanage’s D-class inshore lifeboat (ILB) was tasked this evening to assist in locating a missing person thought to be in the Durlston Head area. The ILB launched into choppy conditions and made its way round towards Durlston Head to join the volunteers from Swanage and St Albans Coastguard along with officers from Dorset Police in the search. Once at Durlston Head the ILB was tasked to search towards Anvil Point and then down to the West. Five minutes in to the search news came over the radio that the person had been located safe and well so all units were released. The ILB was soon back on its slipway where it was washed down and made ready for the next service.
