Latest launch information:23rd May 2019
Swanage’s all weather Shannon class lifeboat was requested to launch this afternoon when a motorboat reported sighted what appeared to be a person in the water 16Nm SSE of Swanage. The lifeboat was tasked to investigate and proceeded at full speed to the location in calm conditions. Once on scene the person was recovered from the water and taken back to the lifeboat station. Sadly they were pronounced deceased by ambulance paramedics a short time later. Our thoughts are with the casualty’s family.
