Latest launch information:14th November 2018
The late season busy spell continues for the volunteers of the Swanage Lifeboat crew when the D Class Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was called by the UK Coastguard during its routine Wednesday evening training.
A member of the public had found a pair of shoes on the beach and had become concerned, so had contacted the UK Coastguard via a ‘999’ call. In turn the UK Coastguard asked the ILB, already in the area, to investigate.
The ILB quickly found the wet shoes and carried out a shoreline search of the immediate area. As there were no reports of missing persons and several people in the area had seen nothing untoward, the UK Coastguard were happy to release the ILB to continue their exercise.
