Dorset based artist produces Christmas card to support Swanage RNLI
We’re really grateful to Hannah Calver for providing the image for our Christmas card again this year. Hannah grew up in Dorset and now lives here again. With strong ties to her family in Swanage she is inspired by scenes of the Purbeck coast and nautical life in general. Her bold, simple and colorful designs distill her world into fun and narrative pieces.
Hannah originally trained as an Architect, working on projects as diverse as the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe and private homes in the South West, before moving on to illustration. She draws by hand as well as creating precise and bold computer graphics to bring to life subjects that capture her imagination.
Hannah is so happy to be able to support the Swanage Lifeboat station again this Christmas by contributing an illustration for this year’s card and hopes that the drawing of Swanage’s iconic boats in a frosty seascape will inspire those receiving it to think of the RNLI in the year ahead.”
The cards are available exclusively in the Swanage RNLI Shop, The Square, Swanage. They cost £2.50 for a pack of 5 and all the money from their sales goes towards running the lifeboats here in Swanage.
